Keep it Fresh is a campaign by and for young people from across the country. We recognize the problems facing our neighborhoods, the power of hip-hop to be a force for positive change in our communities, and our potential to create real solutions right now.
From going on tour with Wiz Khalifa and Drake and holding it down at the Life is Living Festival, to traveling to college campuses - we find fresh ways to support young people taking action to transform the places where we work, live and play.
Today we’re launching an information campaign about everyone’s right to Fresh Food, complete with music videos, a Facebook contest,* trivia game, and an opportunity to share recipes for change.
- Check out Keep It Fresh on Facebook: facebook.com/freshtour
- Answer trivia questions on our wall. Every correct answer automatically enters you to win a $200 gift certificate for a local grocery store near you. We’ll hold a drawing each week!
- Do you have an idea for how your community or campus can get access to more fresh fruits and vegetables? Post your “Recipe for Change” to our facebook wall. Ask your friends to ‘Like’ your idea – if your recipe for change gets the most ‘Likes’ you’ll win an iPod Shuffle and a solar backpack full of gear! With a solar backpack you can charge your iPod or phone on the go!
The food system is messed up on all fronts. It perpetuates hunger and preventable diseases and exploits workers, natural resources and animals. As Green For All Fellow and dope MC, DJ CaveM shows us in his new music video, “Wheat Grass,” it’s up to us to build a real food system that benefits everyone, and stay fresh while doing it.
Keep it Fresh y’all!
